Porn Alley: Porno Jim's "Hookin' Up" Pre-Release Party
Just in case you’ve been asleep — or Mormon — over the past few years: New York’s nascent porn scene is hot hot hot. These days it is hard to keep up with the jizz-soaked releases from Porn Alley luminaries such as Joe Gallant, Tristan Taormino, Tony Comstock and Audacia Ray. Judging by their respective mission statements, these New York smut purveyors have an axe to grind with L.A.’s dominant gonzo porn culture. Porn fans are, I’m sure, looking forward to the kind of East Coast-West Coast rivalry that hasn’t been seen since Biggie Smalls roamed the Earth.
The latest contender for the New York porn crown is Porno Jim, whose directorial debut, Hookin’ Up, explores the debauched world of late-night sexual encounters at sweaty Brooklyn loft parties — in other words, it’s a movie about an average weekend for yours truly. The NYC Sexerati viewed a rough cut of this quintessentially New York skin-flick at this month’s Chemistry party. Next Tuesday is your opportunity to preside over the death of family values in our great city. Be sure to dress the part.
