Ran into some old friends over at Abaya last night. Fellow refugees from the drug-addled Twilo era—Twilo being the club where I accidentally tripped on acid one night and went on this, like, cerebral odyssey. That era was oddly asexual and now, looking back, I finally understand that it was because the drugs were more important than anything else. Preening, strutting muscle boys and cool cats brandishing limp cocks rendered impotent by whatever substance they were on. Coke whores spending hours hunched over coffee tables snorting that shit into their sinuses and spewing out the most inane chatter. Sex for these girls was a thoroughly joyless act—another lever to lean on in the hopes that their sponsors might dispense another pellet of “C” into their gilded cages. So somehow I get into a conversation with the young blonde lounging almost completely reclined behind the VIP tables. Leslie had told her about the party. Our conversation went something like this:

CW: “I really wanna go to this party.”

Me: “That’s great. Have you ever been with a woman before?”

CW: “No.”

Me: “Are you seeing anyone?”

CW: “No. So tell me about this party.”

Me: “Well, it’s just like the party we’re at now. Except people have sex.”

CW: “Mmmmm… that sounds interesting.”

Me: “It is. You can come with us.”

CW: “I’ll be back. I need to score another bump.”
